I failed royally at keeping up with my art while in Australia. Sorry. I did a couple of sketches while in Sydney, but after that... nothing, really. However, I did do a little crafting once I got home, making a few necklaces for friends out of shells and bits of coral I picked up in Australia* and beads I bought in New Zealand.
Other news... I'm signed up for Painting I next semester, which should finish up my art minor nicely. If I really like it I may sign up for Painting II in spring, but we'll see. Oh, and I got a tattoo while in Brissie; Euler's Identity (look it up, it's a math equation), on the bottom of my calf.
*yeah, yeah, you're not supposed to take shells or bits of coral...but they were all dead when I picked them up, and I figure the coral island took a couple of chunks out of me, I can take a couple of chunks out of it.

In a sunburned country
(title borrowed from the great book by Bill Bryson)
So yeah, still in Australia, been here since early January. Probably not taking as many pictures as I should, but most of the others are, so I'll just steal Daniel's camera when we leave ^_^
I live! ...sorta
A word of advice to all college bound students out there: majoring in math will eat your soul. With Number Theory and Linear Algebra this semester, I've been pretty much living in the math department. Linear is easy but kinda boring, but Number Theory, while fun, is brain-meltingly hard at times (for example, we just got our first tests back this week, and the average score was 63). Add to this a Chinese art history course (yay art minor!) and an anthropology course with bloody tons of reading, and I haven't really had much of a chance to do many creative things this semester (well, not counting some of my proofs in Number Theory).
Howeve
We interrupt our regularly scheduled school art...
...to bring you a couple pieces of fanart from Terry Pratchett's wonderful Discworld. They're nothing fancy, but being the first pieces of art I've done since school that I'm even close to liking, I couldn't wait to share. The uploading of what remains of the school art shall resume shortly ("Oh, joy," I can here you all say).

Getting there
I know I've been rather MIA lately (not that anyone's noticed, I suspect), but after several months of feeling depressed and unmotivated art-wise, I've been slowly trying to regain my confidence. I still haven't produced anything of any merit recently, but looking at my pieces from class no longer makes me cringe in despair (gods, I sound melodramatic and emo). Hopefully I'll be able to get back into the swing of things sometime soon, but in the mean time I figure I might as well post the last of my pieces from class (as soon as I find my camera, at least).
Edit: I just noticed, it's been one year since I made this account. w00t, I suppo
